Yep! Our Tree is Up!

We had a "stay at home" weekend since Caleigh isn't really allowed to be out & running around yet after her surgery. So, we took advantage of being home & started decorating for the holidays. I must say, this is the earliest our Christmas Tree has ever been up. However, I am very excited it is up! The boys really like decorating it & getting to use Daddy's ladder in the house ;) Caleigh was pretty much the observer and boss. She really does not like the way the fake bristles on the tree feel at all! I don't think I need to worry about her messing with anything on the tree this year.

Got My 'puter Back!

So...after many hours and many $$$$s paid to the Geek Squad, I got my 'puter back! Hoorah! And, he was able to recover all of my files & photos. Double Hoorah!

So...here is a picture of Caleigh before she got her tonsils out on Thursday morning. And, a photo of her eating her "pop" right after we got home. Her tongue was still blue from the "pop" she had before we left the outpatient surgery clinic.

She's done really well so far. I'm hoping it continues. We are on day 3 of recovery. We put up our Christmas Tree today! Going to decorate the house this week. May as well...we can't do much for at least 7-10 days after her procedure. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. CRAZY!!

We're Home!

Well, Caleigh got to come home after recovery....we got home around 4:00 today. She's had juice, frozen pops, mac & cheese & chocolate Blue Bell. Just about to get her ready for bed...it's been a big day. Hoping for a good night's rest for her...bless her heart. Good Night everyone!

Malware=BAD!

Malware Viruses are BAD! The Geek Squad is coming on Saturday morning. Until then, I'm stuck with my other laptop that doesn't have any pictures on it & barely works most of the time. Boo. Well, I shouldn't complain, at least I can still get on-line & read my e-mail :) So, no posts with photos for a while. I will post after Caleigh's surgery when I can. Not looking foward to that at all :( Good Night!

Another Fun Day....In a Smaller Town!

Another beautiful day in East Texas! We had a lazy morning & then headed over to my Mother-In-Law's home for a visit & to ride 4-wheelers. I cooked up some chili & we had ourselves a great time! Caleigh and her MaMaw have a cool chemistry....she piles up in her MaMaw's chair with her & they visit, sing, color, eat, tell jokes and stories all day long! Well, there was a break for a 4-wheeler ride and some trampoline jumping.....other than that, she was in her MaMaw's chair. To say she is adored is an understatement ;)

The boys had a blast riding in the country. They would love to live where they can ride all the time (it's restricted in our neighborhood). So, we load up when we can & spend the day in the country. It's always fun. My mother-in-law is moving soon to be closer to her daughter that cares for her a lot. We will miss her home place, but I know it will be better for her to be closer to people....she's pretty secluded right now.

Hope you had a great weekend. Time change stinks. The kids were all asleep by 8, which means it will probably be a pretty early morning for us. Homeschool Co-Op tomorrow followed by the Direct TV people coming to fix up my satellite that the roofers messed up & the roofers coming to add the finishing touches to our new roof. Busy day, busy week! Better not forget those vitamins!

Big Fun in a Small Town

I may have to skip the fair next year...after going to the little town of Bullard down the road from us for their Red, White & Blue Festival. It was so much fun...just like the old fashioned small town carnivals when we grew up. Just as much to do as the fair less the crowds & long lines for corny dogs & rides. There were plenty of activities, rides and yummy foods to last the entire afternoon. I got there around 11 (James had to work the Rotary booth) & we ended up staying until almost 4:00!

I am not doing so great on this 365 project since school started! Actually, last week was crazy. We had a hail storm on Oct. 24th. So, we had roof damage & every roofing company from here to nowhere was calling & dropping by trying to get our business. Plus, the insurance agent called & came by to take a look at the roof, etc. Then, the insurance company hailed out our roof, we hired a roofing company & got a new roof. Yes, all in a week. So, school was a challenge last week to say the least, but we made it through. We did run away one day and hung out at Barnes & Noble, lunch at China King, a trip to Sonic for slushies & to Michaels for a Geography project (which I'll take pictures of & post tomorrow I hope:) Maybe I will do better next week, but I doubt it! Homeschool co-op on Monday. School for us Tues. & Wed. then Wed. afternoon taking my boys to my mom & dad's for the night. Caleigh has tubes put in her ears & her tonsils & adenoids out on Thursday morning & I'm sure the weekend will be spent at home recovering. Oh I'm tired just typing it out!

Hope you all had a fun Saturday as well!

"Angel"

Well, she's my angel for sure! Here's Caleigh in her Halloween "costume" prior to Trick-Or-Treating. The boys were off riding scooters & bikes and really were not into 'picture taking'. Heck, one didn't even wear his costume. He chose to wear jeans & A skeleton tee. I really was surprised at that! Oh well. Guess that's part of my 10 year old boy "thing". We had fun in our neighborhood....got loads of candy that we really don't need.....success. (And, yes, she was running & fell and got a bump on her forehead right as I went inside to get my camera for pictures. Poor girl! Another boo boo....it was almost gone by the next morning tho, so she must have caught herself before she hit the pavement. Yikes!)

Finally...The Carving of the Painted Pumpkins!

Well, nothing like the last minute! We had a great day yesterday, part of which included actually carving our pumpkins....finally!!! This was the first year Caleigh could participate in the actual hands on experience of pumpkin goo. The boys could do their own this year. They did need some help cutting out the details of their 'spooky faces'...all in all, they turned out really kid-like which I think is cool! I have some pictures of the finished product still on my camera from last night. I'll try to get our Pre-Trick-or-Treat pics up later today or tomorrow.....it was wonderful weather, so we just stayed here in our neighborhood & had fun with the old fashioned door to door, knock knock, "TRICK OR TREAT"! festivities. There is WAYYYYYY too much candy in our house!
