The boys played out back all afternoon in the sprinklers...I caught some cute pics of them chilling after playing....

I finally got organized for our 4th grade school year! I decided to clean out my desk area in my laundry room (yes, I know a laundry room is a strange place for it, but hey, I didn't design the house!)....anyway, it's a work in progress....but, so far, so good...at least it is all out of the family room & the kitchen and in some sort of organized fashion! I also kept the laptop that the boys use in there with a printer.

Have a great weekend! Our weather is in the 100's. Trying to stay cool! My parents came over to Tyler today & we went out to eat and then celebrated my Mom's Birthday with cake after at our house. The boys booked it outside for the afternoon to play & daddy hung out with Caleigh watching cartoons since she missed her nap. I ran away & did a little shopping :) Today feels like a Sunday to me....at least it will feel like we've had a long weekend.

Peanut Butter Play Dough

PEANUT BUTTER PLAYDOUGH

1 c. peanut butter (creamy) 1 c. corn syrup 1 1/4 c. powdered milk 1 1/4 c. powdered sugar Mix all ingredients. Store playdough in covered container. Delicious and fun to play with too. The boys made this for a snack at zoo camp yesterday... they just went on & on about how yummy it was. I asked the counselors this morning for the recipe & also found the matching one on cooks.com so I just copied & pasted it for you. They're going to make it tomorrow afternoon for a snack! :) Sounds good! Need to go & buy some powdered milk though!

The boys have zoo camp all week....so, Caleigh & I met up with some friends and spent the morning at the zoo today. The weather was nice....not too hot & a some cloud cover. We enjoyed our morning with friends. I felt kinda bad; I only had one kiddo to keep up with & Robin had all 5 of hers! Most of the animals were out & about this morning. Several were up closer than we've ever seen them before. Fun!

My Little Cheerleader

If you happen to have a shredder and some colorful construction paper...you too can have a little cheerleader today! She chose her paper, I shredded it for her, and we put a piece of scotch tape around the middle. There you have it! Paper pom-poms and a cheerleader for a day! She's doing a cheer because her mommy can breathe today! HOO-RAH!

I'm Off...and I Miss "Bear Bear"!

I'm taking a few days off from blogging. Allergies are horrible...can't breathe...I'll be back :)

I miss this look...the look of my baby girl & her "Bear Bear". He's stayed in her bed all day & night now for many months. He never comes out to play or takes trips to the store, out to eat, or even to the grandparents' houses. So sad. How can she already be old enough to be giving up her security pal? "boo-hoo" I say. At least the blanket still gets out. ;)

Thursday, July 22nd: For The Love of A Sand-Box

She doesn't mind if it's hot....she doesn't mind if she's sweaty....as long as she can play in her sand-box. So, for the love of a sand box, I sat on the deck in the heat & watched my baby girl play. It wasn't so bad after all.

Yesterday we hung out around the house for the most part. Caleigh took a 3 hour nap while James & the boys met his sister & her husband for lunch at The Red Lobster. When she woke up, we headed over to my sister-in-law's house (otherwise known as MeMe & Uncle Randy's house) for swimming & burgers & just some good 'ole visiting time. We used to live just down the road from them for about 5 years when we were first married....I miss being so close....now we live about 40 minutes away. Anyway, we had a good evening....a little storm even blew through & cooled things off for us a bit. Nice.

Sympathy...sometimes it's A-OK!

Well...I had a bad day last week. You know, a "want to send my kids out to play & curl up under my covers" type of day. I'll spare you the details. Luckily, days like "that" don't come along too often. Evidently, I was a fairly pitiful sight when the hubby got home from work (at 8:30...which didn't help the situation!). The next day, he sent me these! Aren't they pretty! Luckily, "that" day is history & hopefully another "one" won't come along for a little while.
