Fun Counting with Beans

Fun & Easy counting with egg cartons & beans. Bryce brought this home for learning to count by hundreds in Spanish. So, I stole his teacher's idea & labeled one with numbers 1-12 for number recognition for Caleigh. She counts out the correct number of beans to place in each "egg slot". She loves it! Do you have your own counting/number recognition games? She's all about counting these days!

Monday.

We had a little bit of a cooling off period for just a couple of days last week....the kids took advantage of it & chose to have their lunch outside....I'm so ready for Fall! It's back in the high 90's again today....ugh!!!!

Caleigh's color by number masterpiece. I colored in the top for her showing her what numbers mean what color & all....she did the rest by herself. She was so proud & excited to see her finished creation!

Busy! That one little word sums up my life. These three keep me Busy!

Sort, Match, Count and Smile!

Clothesline for hanging, sorting, matching. We used socks and other laundry. Working with the clothespins turned out to be a tricky skill, but she mastered it pretty quickly! This was her favorite today....

Bead sorting with colored beads, tweezers & little drinking cups with a colored bead glued to the bottom. We've added counting and adding to this activity. She loves working with the tweezers.

Caleigh LOVES hands on activities. We had a "mommy activity swap" last year about this time. Some of the things were too old for her then, but they are age perfect now! Loving them! I think we have 10 or more total, so I will share them when we get them out. Do you have any favorites of your kids' to share?

Dolphin Cruise, Destin, FL

We did see quite a few dolpins while we were out.....

The boys really enjoyed feeding the seagulls. Caleigh would have nothing to do with "Those Birds".

Someone was a little tired by the end of the trip. It had been a long day on the beach; the cruise didn't start until 5:30 & it was H.O.T.! Still, I'm glad we went! It's something I say I would like to take the kids on every trip to Florida, but we've never done it. Check that off my "bucket list"!

1st Day of Gymnastics

We made a little side trip on our way to the beach. We finally stopped in Mobile & toured the USS Alabama Battleship and the submarine on sight. We have said every year we want to stop, but never have. I'm SOOOOOOO glad we did! The kids all loved it, despite the intense heat & tons of climbing/walking. I totally recommend it! It was one of the boys' favorite part of our entire trip. Enjoy the pics & post yours when you go! ;)
