Day 9/365

James took the kids with him for the morning & put C down for a nap while I got a hair~cut....it was so nice to take a shower without interruptions! You can tell the boys dressed themselves....Bryce be stylin'!

I usually drink a cold D~Pepsi every morning, but some mornings I am oh so glad to see this baby! Our electricity was off from 2-4 am & I could not go back to sleep worrying about how I was going to keep the kids warm should it be off for a while....I finally went back to sleep around 5 am & then was up again at 7:30....I NEEDED coffee today!!!

It was "fort" & "spy" day today.

A "C" for Caleigh of course! A friend of mine makes these & sells them in her shop....I think the first 6 months of having Caleigh home & not being able to buy her shoes to wear has thrown me into shoe obsession! Well...that's my story & I'm sticking to it!

Caleigh & "her doggie". She refers to Bella now as "my doggie". It's so true & where you find one, you'll find the other. Always.

...oh, and have I mentioned this week that we LOVE letter tiles? I did....oh well! We separated the vowels out today & did races with our spelling words. It was fun & they were amazed how much quicker they could spell with the letters divided. We've ordered more tiles....they want to make up their own games with them & sometimes there just isn't enough of one letter. Getcha some! Day 6/365

hahaha...some remnants of 'school'....Bryce was covering his paper from Blake (who was on the opposite end of the table! ha! & It wasn't even a test!) Oh & I have no idea why C's red shoe is on the table!

Snuggled together for reading time first thing in the morning....Junie B. Jones is a hit with all 3. Thanks to my neighbor, we're stocked for a few more weeks!

I try not to make big New Year's Resolutions because I am really bad at following through. So, this year I decided I have quite a bit on my plate with homeschooling & I picked an easy resolution & am sticking to it! Giving my kids more to do around the house. I've been really bad in the past to just do it myself because then it's done the way I like...I know, personal problem! Anyway, my resolution is for everyone to make their own beds nicely every morning (including my own). It just makes the rooms look cleaner even when they're cluttered. Also, each boy has a chore list for the week...ok...it's not really a "list". They each choose 3 chores out of a hat for the week & then we'll add different ones & switch around every Friday. They post them on their doors & believe it or not, I haven't had to remind them at all so far to do their chores. I'll chalk week 1 of the new year up as a success!

Blake this afternoon....Braces Off!!! HOORAY!!! Now we wait 9 months to a year for some more of his permanent teeth to come in. He will have a full set of braces put back on when his teeth are ready; this set was just on the top 4 permanent teeth to get them in line & make room for some more! He was excited; you would have thought it was Christmas morning again!

Ahhhh....I do love a lazy Sunday afternoon. The boys hung out in their mismatched pajamas & played the Wii and Caleigh & I made sugar cookies. The boys made the most of their last day of Christmas break. James watched the Cowboys Game & I cleaned all the wood blinds in my house....dude, that was a J.O.B.! Glad that's done! Here's to a wonderful week ahead.

Today we hung out in the country & the boys got to sight in & shoot their 22s that they got for Christmas. We rode 4-wheelers & cooked ribs on the grill. Yummy! It was a beautiful sunny day!

I promise, this is the last Christmas post! We went to my parents' house for Christmas in Longview on Tuesday (just a tiny bit late; mom hasn't been feeling too good). Anywho, little sister chose to wear her new cowboy boots with her beautiful smocked Christmas dress....and she would not put on her dress shoes...what is it with these girls! My 9 year old boys could still care less what they wear! Well....off we went boots & all and had a really nice day. My kids are spoiled. ROTTEN! They got lots of fun things & even some really cool things for our home classroom. Excited!

I've decided to do the whole Project 365 for the year. I really want to document our year homeschooling & having all 3 kids growing up together. I'll try not to bore you to death & some days there will just be a picture because I'm sure I don't have enough interesting things to say for a whole year! Maybe a week if you're lucky!!! I plan to print it into a book at the end of the year. So....may 2010 begin & may it be a wonderful one...ups & downs & all! God Bless!

Christmas at MaMaw & PaPaws

Christmas at my in-laws is C.R.A.Z.Y.! It's fun too....my oh my....tons of folks, lots of cousins, lots of food & lots of presents! Christmas night about 5:00 we all gathered at MaMaws & PaPaws for the party....this year was so nice; everyone made it & no~one was sick. Such a blessing! All of the cousins draw names & buy for each other, then we play a game with the womens' and mens' gifts. I don't have too many pictures of Blake & Bryce from the night; they were all huddled up with their cousins that got Nintendo DS for Christmas.
