What Hairbands & Umbrellas are for.....

I had to run some errands today...Petsmart, Walgreens, McDonald's in between then Drug Emporium (I do love this one the best!) So did the boys...they got to pick out new art supplies & boxes, mechanical pencils, etc. They spent the afternoon just like this! I think I only saw the tops of their heads for a couple of hours!

In case you didn't know...this is what hair bands & umbrellas are for:

The boys did their school-work this morning & we took off around 11 to run errands and pick up a quick lunch/play. Home around 2:30 & mostly hung out at home after that...It has been so very windy & C got another bad bite on her ankle yesterday, so we hid out from the mosquitos today. Tomorrow is Blake's yearly dr. check up...I'm considering switching and taking Bryce instead because he is complaining about his ear again....I'm wondering if the 1st round of antibiotics didn't kick it....we'll see what the morning holds....J is in Houston, but headed home tomorrow. Our 16th wedding anniversary is Friday...man...16 years! holy moly!

Let Them Be Little

Have you heard the song : "Let Them Be Little" ??? I love it & today her picture reminded me of how short the years are when our children are little....they grow...way too fast. This picture just seems to give me a glimpse of what my little girl will look like in a few years...she just looks too beautiful for a 2-yr. old. Know anyone that can stop time?

Billy Dean: Let Them Be Little

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand.
You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute.
How it amazes me you're changin' with every blink.
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.

So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give 'em hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

I never felt so much in one little tender touch.
I live for those kisses, your prayers an' your wishes.
An' now you're teachin' me how only a child can see.
Tonight, while we're on our knees, all I ask is:

Please, let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give them praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let 'em sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

The so innocent, precious soul:
You turn around, an' it's time to let them go.

So let them be little,
'Cause they're only that way for a while.
Give them hope, give 'em praise,
Give them love every day.
Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle,
Let them sleep in the middle,
Oh, but let them be little.

Let them be little.

Last Day of Soccer

Today was Blake & Bryce's last soccer practice & party day. They got each of the kids a little medal for completing the soccer season. It's been fun, but to tell the truth, I'm glad it's over before the heat of summer hits!

A Day Playing & Grandmama & Grampie's House

We did a few things around the house this morning then headed over to my mom & dad's for the afternoon. They live a little over an hour away...it's not bad at all for a day trip. We just visited & played at their house and had lunch out at Papacita's Mexican Rest. YUMMMY FAJITAS!!! The kids always love to go to Grandmama & Grampies....there are special toys that stay at their house...the boys always set up a table in my Dad's study to play & Caleigh pulls all of her things out into the living room. A very nice day! Now, back to reality tomorrow with school, piano, soccer party & the start of the weekend.

I got her sweet little dress in Vietnam. Oh I WISH I would have bought more clothes in Vietnam! She loves it...she calls it her "party dress"!!

Tricia...you are SO right! The boys love it outside as well! I just thought you guys might be tired of seeing pics of them on the trampoline! HAHAHA! They're too fast to photo on their bikes and they run just about everywhere they go! Those are some busy boys!!!

The Outdoorswoman

This girl loves to be outside...ALL THE TIME!!! She also likes fishing off the deck...into the dirt! The little plastic fish on the end of the line doesn't seem to know that he lives in the water....oh well! No worries!

Even If You're Little....

My daughter & my newest little squirrel friend seem to share the same look!

We've always told our boys....It doesn't matter if you are little, you can still do anything the bigger kids can do. It seems that Caleigh has learned this early on & is compensating well for her short stature.....

What a girl wants! She gets!

Family Sundays Are The Best!

Some things of the boys I kept...I just couldn't let go of them...I'm super glad I kept their chalk board/dry erase easel. Caleigh loves it! It kept her occupied for the morning while we were trying to get everyone ready & out the door!

Mini road trip to LaRue for Uncle Randy's Birthday Party. All the kids' cousins live there, so it's always a great time for them!
We went in Daddy's truck (with no DVD Player) So the boys were sure to bring something to occupy their time during the drive!

You know you're in the country when the driveway/carport looks like this:

Daddy stealing some kisses! She is such a Daddy's girl!

Caleigh & her closest cousin in age, Destiny. Destiny's momma had just come home from Wal-Mart with a prize for her: A WIG! With long blonde hair and pink streaks in it!!! hahaha! She thought she was IT in that wig! It was so funny!

I almost stole these chairs for our deck! I love how my sister in law painted them bright colors. I may have to copy her! They would make some cute picture props in the right setting!

We all enjoyed our day in the country! I didn't get any cute pics of the boys because they take off with their cousins riding 4-wheelers, fishing & playing in the woods. I heard today that they had dust bowl fights...dare I ask? I didn't! I know they had fun & that's that!

It's Warmin' Up!

We played out back today....ALL DAY LONG! Here is Little Miss No Nap:

I have already gotten my money's worth out of this sand table! She plays with it every day....

Today, she set her baby up to watch her play...hahaha!

Trying to fight the mosquitos: got us a new zapper! Hope it helps!

Here's my old dinner bell...it was left by the previous owners of our 100 yr. old farmhouse in LaRue....we took it with us 10 years ago when we moved to Alabama. I've saved it all these years & it just makes me happy to see it finally back up! Thanks James!

My first attempt at Strawberry Plants....we'll see... I'm skeptical!

This dog LOVES the dirt...anywhere he can find dirt, sand, mud, etc., he's in it! Our other doberman was the same way! Must be a dobie thing!
Hope you're having a great weekend! I'm putting everyone to bed early tonight because I am pooped!!!
