Half Way in Jackson Mississippi....Night before Last

We stayed the night 1/2 way in Jackson Mississippi. The kids had a pizza party on the floor & we had a good night's rest before traveling into Fort Walton Beach today. Fun! I took some pretty cool pictures of Caleigh standing up in the room's window looking out...well, I think they turned out cool! We're in Florida now....beach pictures to come! We already hit the beach this morning; breakfast is cooking & crab legs are on the menu for today!

We're Here!

We're at the beach! Got in late this afternoon to beautiful Okaloosa Island, FL. So pretty...spent the evening on the beach & grocery shopping/setting up the condo for a week of living. Got most of it done...hitting the beach in the morning & our friends get in around noon tomorrow...SO EXCITED! It's been a year since we met up...last summer...same place...FUN TIMES AHEAD! Gotta run...all kids in bed; going to try to finish unpacking while everyone snoozes....pictures tomorrow if my camera cooperates! It got damp from a cooler on the way up here & my lens is foggy...UGH!!!!

Packed up & ready to go...kinda....

Well, the car is mostly packed & we are ready to go...well, as soon as J can peel himself away from work...Looks like we'll be pulling out around 2:00 if all goes as planned. So, Jillian in the am...cleaning the house...dogs to the vet for boarding & keeping the little ones from bouncing off the walls. Should make for a fun morning!!! Just for grins, here's another old beach picture! In a couple of days, I'll have some new ones. :) Ah...Blake Stye is FINALLY showing signs of improvement. It's still not gone by any means, but a little better & less painful. Thank goodness!

Our Evening Walk

I always forget to take the camera on our evening walk..well, I remembered!!! There's a cute donkey that lives out our front gates & around the corner. Caleigh takes him treats every night. His favorites are Cheerios & Carrots we've found out. He doesn't care for our spinach or celery! The night sky was so pretty as we headed down the hill for home. A nice breeze tonight...but it was still hot as all get out! Countdown to beach: 2 days! Finally!

A Little Lazy Time

We had our first day of Homeschool Co-Op this morning. It went just fine! I am reminded of how spoiled I am...not having to get everyone ready every day of the week to be out the door by 7:30 for school! I don't miss that AT ALL!!! :) At least we don't have to be at Co-Op until 8:45. (I still had to wake Caleigh up at 8:00 to get ready though.) So....the kids had a great morning & we had lunch at Subway then came home & relaxed a bit. I thought the kids made good photo subjects all sprawled out on the couch together. Poor Blake...I'm having him put the warm compresses on his eye for his stye every 2 hours. I'm hoping it helps. The antibiotic the dr. gave him seems to be helping a little on the swelling & redness of the eyelid. Still looks horrible to me. Anyone have any home remedies for styes I can try????

A Day At The Water Park

I know these aren't the greatest pictures! I just copied & Pasted them from the website! I took the boys to Splash Kingdom in Canton yesterday with a friend & her son. They had a blast to say the least! And yes, we went on the tall white slide on the top pic & I just about had a heart attack! They went several more times, but once was enough for me :) Today we start packing & making lists of things for our beach trip...we leave next Thursday! WOO HOO!!!! Blake has a really bad stye on his eye that just will not go away...it's been there since last Tuesday. James is taking him to the dr. this morning. Hoping they will give him some strong eye antibiotic that I can put on it... fingers crossed. The warm compresses just aren't working & His whole eye is red & swollen. He doesn't complain; I would be whining all day!

Homemade Tortillas Try #1

Welllllll....We had a unit on Mexico last week for school...in our unit, they had a recipe for homemade tortillas. Of course my little Mexican, oops! I mean Vietnamese, children wanted to make them & I must agree it was fun! However, we ended up having DQ Tacos as our Mexican Lunch! The tortillas had a good flavor, but it must be pretty tricky to get the right thickness/or thin that is! Fun day...nice little mess going on...happy kids.

The Boys on the First Day of 4th Grade

Blake Age 9 (Almost 10!) The First Day of 4th Grade.

Bryce Age 9 (Almost 10!) The First Day of 4th Grade.

We started school today! I almost put it off until after the beach (almost!)...but, I didn't! Glad to get things rolling and start a schedule again. I will take Reading, Spelling & Math to the beach...we'll pick up our Grammar, History, Bible & Science when we get home. We're studying Mexico in our Around the World study....I think Mexican Food may be on the menu one day this week! There's a recipe in the book for home-made tortillas that looks pretty easy & fun! Have a good week!
