From Snow to Spring.

Each year I try to take some pictures when our azaleas bloom out front & back. They are so pretty this time of year. Here is Caleigh's little photo shoot from a couple of days ago....in order from the beginning to end of our 10 minute "session"....I told her she could pose however she liked as long as she stayed in one spot! So....here's what I got! She'll be 3 1/2 in a couple of weeks! Growing like a weed! She weighs 29 pounds and is a true 3T in tops & bottoms. I need to measure her height.....Happy Spring!

(And, no, she does not have a huge bruise on her forehead...something went wrong with the lighting...when I'm a little more awake, I'm going to try & fix it with photoshop....ideas?)

Colorado Altitude Makes Me SLEEEEEEPY!

Caleigh would take a 2-3 hour nap during day-care while we were skiing & still fall asleep before 9 at night....the altitude & time change made for one sleepy baby!

We are so lucky to have been able to travel with our good friends for the 2nd year in a row! They are sooooo much fun!

....the town of Breckenridge, that is!!! There was a fun Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday Parade downtown Breackenridge while we were there....we enjoyed it & dinner at Bubba Gump's Shrimp! I didn't get too many good pics of the parade because C was scared of it at first & I couldn't juggle holding her & my camera!!! But, here are some pics of our friends that we traveled with & us getting ready to leave for town...and a couple from Bubba Gumps Shrimp! I'll try to find some decent ones of the parade for tomorrow.....

So...It's Been A Long Spring Break!

So, as the saying goes....it's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there! Seriously, how do these folks do it??? Too much snow for me to live with for long....

We had a wonderful Spring Break! I really wish we could have stayed longer, but after 10 days away from work, the husband really needed to get back!!! It was great weather, great snow, awesome skiing, healthy kiddos, fun friends & a great trip!!! We stayed & skiid Breckenridge, CO. The condo was awesome; it was three story, so even though we stayed with some great friends, their 3 kids plus 2 extra teenage friends, it was like having our own place. Pics to follow...Well Leigh, at least I know you still read my blog ;) So, here you go! I finally got a few pics downloaded off of my camera! I really think I'm going to have to back down into my once a week post. I ordered my boys' 5th grade curriculum & will start it in May...we're having "school" most of the summer and I'm teaching High School Economics at our co-op in the Fall. Caleigh will be turning 4 this Fall, & I am just getting busier & busier! Something has got to give...

Do You Remember?

My kids are loving the old Schoolhouse Rock Videos on YouTube. I grew up with these! Do you remember "I'm Just A Bill", "Conjunction Junction" & "Lolly"??? I do!!! We're using them as short reviews after Grammar & History Lessons. C loves them too! Check 'em out! It's free :)
The boys are learning The Preamble to the Constitution. The Schoolhouse Rock version is really helping them memorize it to a tune. Fun!

I Learned Something Today....

You can be living in the "country", on 50 acres & it can still only take you 12 minutes to get to a Brookshires. I'm impressed.

She absolutely loves to look at her baby book & pictures of when she first joined our family.

I don't remember the boys ever caring about their lives "before us". She does.

She wants me to try to get her a picture of her in a tummy in Vietnam. She wants to know exactly how she came to be & how she came to be a part of our family. I now know it's true what they say about girls & adoption. At least in our family, it is proving to be true....the emotional aspect is greater, the questions are deeper & they come earlier....at least for my C.

Another beautiful day. No complaints here! We had Co-Op when most public schools were on holiday, but...oh, well! The kids had a great day & I only had 3 Kindergarten kiddos today, so it was an easy peasy day for me too. ;) Home to play outside & pick up the house from the weekend...Not anything Earth shattering....just a day in the life!
