We Have A Pusher, Walker, Kind-Of Kiddo!

The first time she walked behind her little car.
Looking Out the Front Window
She found the blind opener...little stinker!
She has a great sense of humor!
Her hair is getting so long!
Yesterday Caleigh walked behind her little car...just pushing it around everywhere! I am amazed that she has the balance to do this & not fall very often at all. It is so funny to watch! I was so excited that I only caught the back of her walking away! Dang It! I got a few other cute ones yesterday too though...the little stinker playing at the window with the blind opener that had come off & was laying in the windowsill....she doesn't miss much!

First Viewing of Tom & Jerry

Starting to stand unassisted...
Very Curious about Tom & Jerry
She's playing with toys again...she had stopped for a while to just explore!
HaHa! Tom & Jerry are funny!
She is glued to the show!

The boys were watching Tom & Jerry yesterday & Caleigh decided it was funny! She is also standing up now very sturdy on her own without holding on...maybe just leaning against the couch or a chair a bit. I am still hopeful that she will be able to walk...if she is not walking on her own at 18 months, the doctors will probably fit her with knee braces.

Deer, Oranges, Ivy & A Sickly One...

So, I can't think of a creative title post and I'm a bit "off" today...what day is it anyway? It's Tuesday, but it feels like Monday because the kids were out of school on Monday. Bryce made it through the morning, but came home from school by 11 not feeling so great. C & I went to the grocery this morning & she's been snoozing since 12:00...it's now almost 2. I have gotten absolutely nothing accomplished today, but felt like goofing around with the camera, so.....Here's my sickly child, my $3 oranges (how much are oranges where you live? These are great, but they should be for that price! $1 an orange! I would have never thought...) Oh, and this is the ONLY house plant that lives here..I bought it at Lowes over the weekend & it cost $5! $5 for an IVY!!! Outrageous....really....I should have just dug some off of the side of the road in the summer. Oh, & the deer...this is James' kill & thus my wall decor (ick!)...never-mind the dust (It's up way high! But now I know it's there, so I must go clean it!) Caleigh always wants to see it but then makes the funniest faces!

Something different to look at...

The darling spaniel who terrorizes my dogs through the fence! She's So Sweet!
The Holly Tree out front before the birds get to the berries.
The bird nest up high out back covered by the mistletoe.
The sweetie that calls her nest on our porch "home".
The blooming bushes out back that make my allergies go crazy! They stink!

In case you're tired of cute pics of our kids (LOL!), I had a few minutes while C was taking a nap to try out my fancy Zoom lense. I need to read up, but a few pics turned out pretty good...all things around our house since I couldn't venture off with the baby napping :)

SS Card

Oh!! We got C's SS Card in the mail today! Cool

should be an interesting week....

So, this morning Caleigh has already figured out how to crawl into the dishwasher as I am unloading/loading it, push her rocking chair over to the couch sideways...crawl up into her chair & over it's armrest right onto the couch (she was very proud of herself on this accomplishment!) and she can get down the same way too. She is letting go with one hand while cruising around furniture & moving from chair to couch to toy etc. Since the weekend, she can push herself up into a standing position from sitting without touching anything...she just stands there for a minute amazed & then plops down. Should make for an interesting week around here....

The First Slide

Outside by the trampoline is our boys' old toddler slide...it's been used as a "step" onto the trampoline for years now, so it's a bit "tired" looking! Caleigh decided yesterday she wanted to play on it & took the plunge. I was glad I had the camera outside already! Guess it's time to get out the power washer & clean it up for her!

Sweet Feet

In Vietnam...feet wrapped & wooden splints on her first 8 months of life....
Her first month home...prior to surgery...her little feet just go the wrong way...The doctors at Scottish Rite fix her up!
6 Months Post Surgery & Castings & Braces: This is how she sits in her high chair every time!
Sweet little left foot with her mongolian spot...hope it never goes away!
Sweet little right foot....
She can bend her toes back all the way to touch the top of her foot! It's crazy!

You all know the story, but each day I am amazed again at how Caleigh's feet have healed from surgery, casting & braces to make straight little sweet feet! I just love her little baby toes! So, practicing on my close-ups with "the camera", I thought I'd share....before & after ....

Home 7 Months Today!!!

It is hard to believe, but we have been home with Caleigh 7 months today!!! Time Flies & she has grown & changed/accomplished so much in just 7 months. We are so lucky to have her home. Please take a minute to say a little prayer for Erin & Meredith who are still waiting to travel for their daughters in Vietnam. I pray for you both daily & hope there is a wonderful end to your waiting very soon!

Brought to you by the letter "P":

I thought I would play...a blogger friend started it & gave me the letter "P"...so...mine will be short & sweet...

Here are the rules...If you want to play, leave a comment on this post letting me know, and I’ll assign you a letter. You write about ten things you love that begin with your assigned letter, and post it at your place. When people comment on your list, you give them a letter, and the chain continues on and on!

1. Patience: Have some...would love a lot more!
2. Peace: I feel at peace most of the time...peace in my life is being saved & knowing I will go to Heaven when I leave this earth.
3. Pie: Love it! Apple pie is my favorite, but I like peach, cherry, chocolate, key lime, coconut...I'm not picky in the pie department!
4. Pitter Patter: Of little feet on the tile & hardwood floor.
5. Picnics: With the kids & the hubby...FUN!
6. Parks: What we do without parks? My kids LOVE the park, so do I!
7. Parents: I thank God every day that both of my parents are still living & my best friends.
8. Please: I like the word "please". If you say it, you will usually get what you want from me...I'm a sucker that way. My boys have this one figured out!
9. Peanut: No, not the kind you eat...my little "peanuts"..Caleigh, Blake & Bryce.
10. Purple: Is my favorite color.

Insurance & SS #

Getting ready to free Bella!
Why I need gymnastic foam tiles on my floor!
Ready for lunch with friends!
Getting out of my chair by myself!
Hmmmm.....reckon I can crawl up this thing?

Well, we're on to a couple of more steps to complete C's U.S. official citizen "status"! I went this morning to file for her U.S. Social Security Number! It should arrive by mail within just 2 weeks. We also faxed our insurance company with her new birth certificate information/copy so they will change her name on the insurance card to her American name. It is all just "official" business, but it feels great to be completing it! She is growing and changing like crazy...just this morning she added the sign "eat" to her growing "signing vocabulary". She pointed at the bananas on the bar & signed it herself without prompting from me...it's great to know what she wants. She crawls in & out of her rocking chair and stands up in it if you're not watching ;). Now, if I can just get her to quit having a little fit if she doesn't get what she wants! LOL! Here are a couple of pictures of the little one....oh, she's learned how to let Bella out of her crate now too & she doesn't like it when I put her in, so she always goes over to let her out!

Caleigh's Playroom

Trying to get up on the couch via a toy "stool"
...and how does she find the one Lego the boys missed while cleaning?
Sporting a shiner thanks to a fall on the window-sill.
The "TV Room" Converted to C's Playroom (need to find a place for the dog crate!)
Think I need more tiles! She like to lay like this to watch her TV.

Well, the "TV Room" off of the kitchen has formally become Caleigh's Playroom over the weekend. She always wants to play in there anyway because the boys are usually at the bar playing & this is also their TV room. It's good because I can see her from the kitchen which is where I always seem to be these days! Since I would rather her not fall on the tile & bust her head open while playing, we opted for the very cushioned puzzle mat...not too fashionable, but it does the trick! I may actually add a little bit more since she has a funny way she likes to lay on the couch...She played in there all night last night after we were done & this morning after we got back from taking the boys to school. I think I'll rotate toys out every few days so there's always something new for her to play with. This room used to hold the boys' toys & huge Thomas the Train Table, so I guess we have come full circle again & it's once again "the Toy Room" as the boys always called it!
