The Tickets For The Spurs Game

Ok....those of you who know me well will find the irony in this post. (For those who don't: I'm so thrifty & love a good bargain.) We would NEVER buy these ourselves, so I just had to take a photo of James' & the boys' Spurs Game Tickets from last Friday night. Note: these were a gift...but I still find it amazing that anyone would actually pay $1,000 per seat to see a basketball game. They were on the floor...owners seats...they had a blast! Blake & Bryce took a ton of pictures, but they are mostly of the cheerleaders!!!! Pics to follow when I get a chance. Oh, and I think it's funny that there's a pizza coupon on the ticket...like whoever paid for these tickets needs a coupon!!!

These are a few of my favorite things.....

I was going through some of my favorite pictures from the past month...these are a few of them.

We had a blast in San Antonio....the boys enjoyed the Spurs Game & we had fun at Sea World on Saturday. It started out really windy & cold, but by noon it had warmed up nicely & it was a beautiful afternoon. Pictures in a few days...I took too many & will have to weed through & edit them. Caleigh did pretty well on the trip. It was a practice run for Tulsa coming up in June!

She did just fine in the car for the 6 hour drive both ways....nights were a little rough, but not bad. She went to bed easily around 9 & woke at 3 am for about an hour (yikes!), then back to sleep until 7:30 both nights. I'm sure it was the pack n play & being in a different place. She LOVES her crib & was happy to be in it last night & again today for her nap & bed-time!

Bryce earned his red stripe tonight at Tae Kwon Do! He is SO EXCITED & we celebrated with a root-beer from Whataburger. I had to drag myself out of the house to take them...I was ready to stay in after being gone all weekend! I'm glad we went afterall!

Oh...please say a quick prayer for our Bella boxer. She is having a procedure done in a few weeks that will not be fun. I am worried for her....Thanks!

Two of our Dillon friends recently lost referrals of little girls in Vietnam. I am so sad for the both of them, their families & the children envolved. My heart is very heavy for them tonight.
It is my hope that they will find a sense of peace in this time of grief.

Headed to Sea World

In C's room...just playing around...love it tho. So girly...my dolly, her fav. in the middle & one from Vietnam...her bows....I just like this picture for some reason....
The azaleas in full bloom on the front porch before the rains hit this week.

We are excited to be heading to San Antonio for the weekend. James scored front row tickets on the floor, by the coach, at the Spurs Game Friday night & is going with a buddy & our boys. Sat. & Sun. we are hitting Sea World...the weather is supposed to be nice with highs in the low 80's & we're missing the Spring Break crowds so I am hoping it's a great time! The kids are just beyond excited. (staying in a hotel seems to rank pretty high!)

Where did the weekend go?

Target Practice
Blake was cracking a joke about the target's name.
"Mom, you really need to organize the shoe shelf in the garage...I'll help!"

We had a fun weekend...beautiful weather & outside the whole time. Saturday we attempted to get our yard cleaned up. We still have more raking to do, but we made some progress. The boys & C played outside the whole time despite all of the pollen. She decided naps are not for her when there is fun to be had! A 30 minute nap on Sat. & Sun. was all she allowed! Crazy girl. My parents came over Sunday & I am bummed that we were so busy I didn't pick up my camera once! The pics are from Saturday...the boys target practice out back with the BB Guns & one of C playing with shoes..the girl loves to play with shoes. Whatever! :)

Blog Followers....Suggestions Please :)

So, if you have a favorite blog not already on my list...will you leave me a note so I can check it out?!?! It's obvious that I'm a blog addict. I'm tired of FaceBook....that didn't take long. Once I caught up with everyone I know from HS & such, I'm kinda over it. I love reading parenting blogs, adoption blogs, photography & Christian moms' blogs....recently found a good one that I like on Vintage Finds & such....So, what's your favorite??? Indulge me!

Stripes & Icky Noses

Well, I guess it's obvious I love striped pants on C. I just think they're the cutest. She's been full of lovely goo in her nose the past few days...I really think it's just the TONS of pollen in the air, on the trees, on my car, etc. She feels just fine....I think she's become tired of me wiping her nose, so she's decided she'll do it herself....sometimes she gets too much tissue, but she's really pretty good at it for a 17 month old!

She Loves this BIG Cup!
Playing outside in the dampness! The sun did grace us with its presence this afternoon.
Trying to feed the birds a flower petal....

Scottish Rite

The boys entertaining themselves in the waiting room...
The sweetest receptionists ever!
One of the neat displays...this mobile hangs above the Cafeteria area...
Playing hide-and-seek under the table...see her double jointed fingers & thums! They go every which way.....so do her toes!
Practicing standing up without holding on...she's getting pretty good at this trick!

I really cannot say enough about Scottish Rite. It's kinda like walking into the Twilight Zone. Everyone is SO NICE. Such helpful people just do not exist in every doctor's office & hospital. This place is extraordinary & despite the fact that Caleigh screamed the entire time we were in the doctor's office itself; it was otherwise a good visit. The team is happy with her progress & will see her again in 3 months. If she's not letting go & walking on her own at that time, they will refer us to another team of specialists. I am concerned because one knee still comes completely out of socket at the slightest 'tug'....her right knee is much more stable that the left. We'll see.....I am learning that all of the cute dresses I bought are really useless until the little one is walking. Pants are for crawling! ;)

17 Months Old Today

Today: A trip to Discovery Science Place: An ambulance ride on her 17 month birthday....
Her favorite room at Discovery Science Place...Tennis Balls...
My cute little fire-lady!
Playing in the new baby/toddler area...she loved it in here!
Last Weekend: Loves to wear her brothers' shoes & mine!
From yesterday: Still insists on eating everything by herself...it can get a bit messy!

Caleigh is 17 months old today! We head to Dallas tomorrow for her check-up at Scottish Rite! Wish us luck! She's doing too many cute things to mention...the latest is when it's cold out, she will shrug her shoulders up by her neck & say Brrrrrrr. She loves her DaDa, but he's not allowed to do bathtime now for some unknown reason & she doesn't want anything to do with her baby blow up bathtub...only the big tub will do. She definately 'speaks' her mind & is quite independent. We're getting over a fever virus & on antibiotics for an ear infection. I can't complain since she hasn't been sick since November.....

My favorites from out-back....

Bryce & Caleigh
She sits so funny....way too flexible.
She only wants to swing on the big swing now.
Love those chubby cheeks!
Up on the fort...just threw a ball off...wearing my necklace all day!
Laughing at Blake crawling above her on the monkey bars.
Blake...he has no idea I took this...don't know what he was thinking....

Home 8 Months!

It is hard to believe that Caleigh has been home with us now for 8 months! Sometimes it seems like she's always been here, other times it feels like we came home yesterday. She is growing and changing at lightening speed! Much more attached to mommy & doing the lovely "crawling up my leg" when she's craving my attention or just plain tired. Loves cows & horses & gets excited every time we pass them...says "Mooo". It's just plain darlin'! She also says "Hah" for Hot when she sees steam or a fire & many other cute things :) I guess I'll stop counting her months home when we hit a year....for now, each day & month that passes just reminds me of what a miracle it is that she is here with us.

Dillon/Buckner Heritage Day Dallas

Caleigh stood up in the middle of a room without holding on to anything! Several times!
Maile, Kim-Lan & Caleigh
Making a craft in "China"
Blake & his mud hut in "Ethiopia"
Bryce & his mud hut in "Ethiopia"

On Saturday we attented Dillon/Buckner Heritage Day in Dallas. The kids had fun & I got to meet fellow Dillon Moms Mandy M. & Kim-Lan with their daughters Anna & Maile! They were the first families whose blogs I followed as they traveled to Vietnam to bring their daughters home. It was neat to meet them & their families & chat & talk about the upcoming Vietnam Families Reunion in Tulsa coming up this summer. I hope to see them all there. Here are a few pictures....they had rooms with crafts & foods from China, Russia, Ethiopia & a booth from Guatemala...I was disappointed that Vietnam wasn't represented because Jynger couldn't make it. It was also exciting because Caleigh picked that day to start standing up on her own without holding onto anything...she stood & balanced for quite a bit before plopping down several times & has been doing it ever since! Hoping this is the next step towards walking.

Sweet Hands....

I had a post a little while back titled "Sweet Feet"...I thought it was only appropriate to title this one "Sweet Hands"! :) Caleigh was putting lotion on her face (she loves lotion! Such a girl!) Hard to believe it's the 1st day of March! Spring is coming...Hooray! Caleigh started sleeping through the night this week...every night except 1 she slept from 8 til 6:30 without waking once! It was Heaven I tell you & I hope it continues...I think it may be because she is finally off of the formula & onto whole milk full time now & eats full meals with us now too. She isn't waking for the formula during the night like she used to. So nice....Enjoy your Sunday!
