Fun Friday January 29th

Serving Mommy some yummies from the bakery.
Oh I truly hope we never need these for real!
Blake giving up a smile!
She looks so little by this shopping basket! She was loading it up!
The sand table is still her favorite.

I managed to get all 3 kids in a picture today! :)
Blake taking notes at the Veterinary Clinic
Bryce checking out the X-Ray Machine

Our rainy and cold 'Fun Friday' equaled a morning at Discovery Science Place downtown followed by a yummy lunch from Whataburger! DSP is always a fun outing & I will truly be sad to see the boys outgrow it. I think maybe this year will be their last....most of the centers are geared towards younger kids. They still like the Vet Clinic, Ambulance & Car on the 1st side & the Cave & Radio Station on the 2nd side. Caleigh's favorite areas to play today were the Bakery, Grocery Store & the Sand Table. She branched out today! She usually parks it at the sand table!

Thursday the 28th Day....

I haven't been too inspired to take photos the last few days, but this morning the light in Caleigh's room was really pretty despite our cloudy weather. She absolutely adores her horse. She has named him Blue (and yes, it is a boy evidently!) She still needs me to hoist her up there, but she's figured out how to put her feet on to ride in her own little way. It really is a bit too big for her, but she'll grow into it. For now, it seems that Blue is a good friend! The other pictures are from our "recess" time today.....the weather is really supposed to turn nasty tonight & tomorrow, so we took full advantage of the 'calm before the storm.' On another note, I just have to say that today was an awesome school day!

January 27th....Wishful Thinking Wednesday

For some reason, when I woke up this morning, I had an overwhelming feeling of wishing I was here....
....just walking on the beach in the morning.....
....watching the waves with my kids....
Instead, I'm here. Obsessing over snails & wondering if I'm feeding them enough, too much?.....they started getting stuck inside my clam that moves up & down to emit oxygen, so I had to rig my clam to stay open so it would quit knocking the snails shell over & over...you get it.
So, then one snail figured out how to climb the air pump hose that goes into the tank from the outside, and I kept checking all day to make sure it didn't climb out of the fish tank....I'm just weird that way. Wait until Spring & then you can watch me obsess over baby birds....I'm sure you're just giddy with anticipation!!!!

Off to group Piano day! (After I wake the snoring baby!)

Tuesday, January 26th Do You Doodle?

These fun little books were a topic of discussion on The Pioneer Woman's Blog a while back. I LOVE to read through her archives on Homeschooling & never once have I been disappointed by a project of hers to try. I thought I would give these a go since both of our boys love to draw, color & paint. Anything having to do with art is a hit in our house & these did not disappoint! So, do you doodle??? You can buy these on Amazon cheaper than the regular price at bookstores....getcha some!

Oh & Amy, the flash cards just happened to have the boys' names & some of their friends' names on them...Bryce was SOOOOOO excited because you just don't usually see the name Bryce too much on printed materials!

Oh & Jessica! Of course I don't let her play with my good MK Lipstick!!!!! She has to use the "others"~ LOL~

Day 25!

Hiding....
Found You!
When did she get big enough to sit at the table...in a chair...and reach??!!!! Oh My!
Trouble!
She wanted me to take of picture of her belly!!! I think it's cute that she has a belly...the boys' tummies were, and still are, so flat! Makes me jealous!

Ahhhh....Monday....a new week & new beginnings. We attended our first class day at a new Homeschool Co-Op today. We meet from 9~1:30 on Mondays. The boys are taking Fun Science, Critical Thinking/Logic, Geography & then they have a Young Boys Club where they play sports, etc. outdoors. Caleigh is in the 2 year old class & I help in the Kinder class as well as clean up after lunch & then attend Women's Group. The first day was a hit with all three kids. The boys loved it....I knew they would....they are NOT shy & make friends easily. Caleigh had a great time & enjoyed telling me all about her day & showing me the things she made. I missed her like crazy. She is growing up too fast.

Day 23/365

Dora & Boots are definately the favorite around our house these days....we need to stock up on DVDs for our road trip in March!
I know this is random, but I LOVE these math problem cards! They come in a box with a wonderful mixture of graphs, addition, subtraction, multiplication, money, etc. I just mix them all up & the boys choose two or three each day to work out. They love them because they have their names & a lot of their friends' names in the problems....hey...whatever it takes!
Breakfast in the Murphy's Yard! Come one, come all!

So I'll call this random Saturday since I don't seem to have a theme going on! We've been out & about since this morning & Caleigh is now napping....good, rainy, cloudy napping weather! I've been folding the loads of clothes that I've been piling up on the couch. The boys are drawing. Some sports game is on the TV.....love me a lazy Saturday afternoon!

Friday! Day 22 of 365

I finally scrapbooked my Vietnam Travel Journal....8 years later!
And added some pictures of "firsts" at the end...
Peek-A-Boo Friday
Did I forget to mention in the last post that she LOVES glue sticks? LOVES!
These are her three favorite books that I get to read about three times a day! (Sometimes the boys will read them to her for me which is WAY cute!)

Hooray for Friday!!! Hooray for me for finally completing a project that should have been done 8 years ago!!! In January of 2002 we traveled to Vietnam for 4 weeks to meet Blake & Bryce (then Long & Lan and 16 months old). I wrote out the happenings of each day in a small spiral notebook & have had in tucked away in a drawer ever since....always meaning to scrapbook it for safe keeping. Well, 8 years later, I did it! Hey....better late than never!!! Have a great weekend. We've had an easy school day & are really enjoying the 70 degree sunny weather! I know it's just a tease; cooler temps are coming next week. For now, we're happy campers playing outside all afternoon!!! Well....until we go to piano!

Day 21/365 is Perfection

Julie & several other friends of mine have asked "What do you do with Caleigh while you're teaching/helping the boys during the day?" Or..."What are you working on with Caleigh at this age?" Well, this post is for you! Anything that has shapes, pieces to fit into spaces, etc. are a hit with C. She pulled out the boys' Perfection Game today and went to town. Funny thing is, she doesn't like to be helped with much; she prefers to do it "by myself". Good for me so I can take pictures!!! She gets each little piece in her hand & looks at it by twisting it all around, then looks on the board for the matching spot & places it in. Sometimes she misses, but for the most part she gets it on the first try. She works until she's done & then she wants me to help her turn on the timer (I realize this is backwards, but don't tell Caleigh!). So, if you're out & about and find a good buy on a Perfection Game, your toddler might like it too! She also likes: Playdough, puzzles, crayons, washable markers, the toys with the keys that unlock different locks; color coordinated...she loves those! She got an Animal Hospital by Parents for Christmas & she locks and unlocks those cages a hundred times some days! She also LOVES to help me cook & I let her measure & pour, stir....lots of things for coordination. She sits & listens during story-time & just this week has started bringing me books to read to her & she will plop up in my lap & listen to the whole thing....I'll try to post her favorites soon...yes, she has 3 that I read OVER & OVER! :) Have anything that your 2 year old loves? I'd love to know! I'm always looking for new things to fill days! (Especially the rainy ones!)
