We have started our summer reading & the kids are actually looking forward to it. What a change a year can make! We're picking out a new subject each week & going to the library to scope out books. You Tube seems to have everything under the sun on it about any subject you can think of (just be careful to preview before the kids....some things are not what the title would lead you to believe!) So....here's our stack of books from last week....Dinosaurs was the topic of choice. Fun! Also, I took a pic of Bryce's favorite books in the world (his quote:) He loves all of the "skeleton books" which take you inside the human, dog & T-Rex bodies. Pretty cool. Posting a few pics of the kiddos from this morning...typical summer morning at the Murphy house. This has been one of my favorite things about homeschooling...no rushing around, stressed out & trying to get everything done before 7:30! We hang out, play, act silly, make breakfast & talk. It's pretty awesome.
Amy...we're having "summer school" at our house! We have made up our own version of a summer reading program, but we are also participating in our little library's summer reading program as well. It kicks off on Saturday. We're also doing Math. We have a little bit to go in our 3rd grade curriculum & I'm also having them work out of some fun Math Skills/Drills Master Books for 3rd grade. We're also reading a Bible Story daily until we're done with our Young Readers Bible. Of course, this doesn't happen every day! But, it's good to have a goal ;)
